ASUKA III
MEYER WERFT is setting new standards with the first new cruise ship to be built after the pandemic: AFBA is supporting the project with a medically based room quality audit - for healthier interiors, safe stays and a pioneering guest experience at sea.
AFBA accompanies Japan's first certified cruise ship
The ASUKA III is not just a new cruise ship, but a milestone in shipbuilding: for the first time, medically based criteria for room quality, comfort and well-being are being incorporated into the planning of a passenger ship. The AFBA seal makes these standards measurable, comprehensible and internationally comparable - for a new era of healthy travel.
The heart of the oceans
The ASUKA III combines travel, experience and relaxation at the highest level. A new understanding of cruising is being created on board: with spacious cabins, state-of-the-art air conditioning technology, contactless control and room concepts that are specifically geared towards the well-being of passengers. Culinary variety, first-class service and cultural offerings create a travel experience with a high quality of stay - healthy, forward-looking and specially tailored to the needs of Japanese guests.

“MEYER WERFT is designing the crew areas itself for the first time. We have big plans for NYK Cruises. Sustainable & healthy crew areas are the future. The well-being of the crew, who are often away for weeks at a time, can be significantly improved by designing allergy-friendly spaces. With its own development and ECARF certification for allergy-friendly construction, the shipyard wants to make the decisive difference and deliver future-oriented ships to the customer.”
